The City of Morrison owns and maintains Grove Hill Cemetery. Located at the corner of High Street and North Genesee Street, is where you will find this beautiful resting place.

Burial records for Grove Hill are maintained by the City of Morrison and are located at City Hall, 200 West Main Street, Morrison, IL 61270. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The price of burial lots in Grove Hill Cemetery shall be as provided in the city fee schedule. See Chapter 14 – Cemeteries in the City of Morrison Code of Ordinances for specific information about Grove Hill Cemetery. The Sexton (Cemetery Foreman) of Grove Hill Cemetery shall coordinate and supervise the preparation of all graves and burials in the cemetery.

Annual cemetery cleanup begins on the last Monday in March.

Persons who wish to save gravesite items must remove them before the last Monday in March.

Items not picked up before the last Monday in March will be removed and disposed of by cemetery staff.

Any item that is not attached to a memorial will be removed including wreaths, grave blankets, sculptures, statues, plaques, lawn decorations, shepherd hooks, solar lights, flower arrangements, etc. Monument/headstone saddles may remain.

Items may be returned the following Saturday.

Persons wishing to place new items graveside are asked to wait until after the annual cleanup.

The American Legion Post 328 of Morrison coordinates the annual placement of flags on Veterans' graves. This event is on the Saturday of the second week prior to Memorial Day in May at 7:45 am, allowing for a full week and full weekend of flag display.  The American Legion accepts and appreciates all volunteer helpers for this annual project.
